What is the Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program?

The Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) is a residential care facility operated by a public agency or private organization. The purpose of a STRTP is to provide an integrated program of specialized and intensive care and supervision. This program includes support services, treatment, and short term (24-hour) care and supervision for children and nonminor dependents.

Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program Requirements for Agencies or Private Organizations

To receive a license for STRTP, a prospective licensee must attend an STRTP orientation. In addition, before applying for the license, the licensee must complete an application with supporting documentation, including a plan of operation and program statement, and submit their completed application along with the application fee.

At Key Essentials we provide the necessary training needed to complete your licensing requirements and become certified in Short Term Residential Therapeutic Training (STRTP). If you are interested in our STRTP training program, please contact us to learn more and to get started.
